Walnut oil

Walnut oil comes from the fruit of Juglans Regia, or the Walnut tree. This tree can grow to between 6 and 12 metres depending on the environment it finds itself in. You can grow the Walnut tree in the UK, depending on the climate and soil conditions.

Walnuts are of course most commonly known as a source of food, being high in Omega 3 fatty acids. The oil, which is cold-pressed from the Walnut, is also known for its use in cooking; it can bring a delicate, light nuttiness to cold dishes. Walnut oil is quite expensive and can spoil quickly if not kept in the right conditions; it is therefore probably not the first oil you think about using in food, but it is delicious!

That said, outside of the edible side of walnut life, walnuts and walnut oil have many different properties that make them excellent in products for the skin or for the hair.

They are rich in anti-oxidants, more so than most of their fellow nuts. You can also find a number of B vitamins, vitamin E and niacin in the walnut. All this means that Walnut oil is a fabulous moisturiser that helps to make your skin the best it can be. It is also believed that Walnut oil can also help with conditions such as Psorisias or fungal infections. And because of the anti-oxidants, there is reason to believe that Walnut oil can help reduce wrinkles and slow down the appearance of wrinkles.
